The Basic RulesRespect is a virtue.Treat everyone with respect. It will loop back to you. For being respectful, you will achieve many things on the site. If you disrespect others, they will come to ignore you. Staff worked hard.Listen to them. We all put great effort into this site. Minimize or eliminate swearing/cussing.Cussing is not nice. This goes along with respect, as you will most likely be ignored if you do this. Don't cuss at others, or in general. Extremely mild things like "crap" are acceptable. No porn. It's icky. Don't be a bully!Yeah... It's not nice to be a bully. If your feelings are hurt in real life by a fellow member, that's not good. Shame on the bully. If they are hurt in roleplay, it's just a fact of RP. Remember that roleplay has nothing to do with real life. If you hate someone in real life, who cares? If you like someone in real life, who cares? It's roleplay. Questions you may have about this rule block:PM a staff member if you have a question. The Character RulesLimit your characters.I usually limit myself to 3-5, and 5 is a lot. You may have as many characters as you want, but this is on your honor that you will keep them active.
Keep the characters on one account. One account, one password, keeps us all organized. Please do so-perhaps list them on your signature to remind you that they are all there.
No perfect characters.Every character has weaknesses, come on! It's no fair if your wolf is goody-goody. Is it something emotional? Physical? Something that triggers an odd reaction—or even fear of swimming/unable to swim is a weakness!

The Roleplaying and Roleplay Thread RulesPlease post in third person.Third person, not second or first.
THIRD PERSON (good): Cuan leaped with joy and howled to the skies. He was free again!
SECOND PERSON (bad): You leaped with joy and howled to the skies. You were free again!
FIRST PERSON: (bad): I leaped with joy and howled to the skies. I was free again!
SOME OTHER THING (bad): *leaps with joy and howl to the skies. Free again!*
See, if ten people are posting in a thread, who is I or you? It's easier to understand in third person.
Please make all posts 50 words or more.I find it a pity, when I word on this huge post, sometimes six or more paragraphs, I HATE it when someone replies with this: Cuan walked up to Tala. Lamo. Sprout it with details, like what Cuan looks like, how he feels about Tala, his surroundings, ect. Once you get in the habbit of making longer posts, it usually comes naturally. And if you get writer's block... Just don't reply until it's gone.
Just that little piece above was 75 words!
Please no power playing.Power playing is defined as follows: Power playing occurs in role playing, and it's when you control someone else's character, as well as your own, without the other person's permission. From the Urban Dictionary
So... I'm Tala, right? This is an example of power playing:
"Cuan! Cuan, wait! Come back!" Tala howled. Her voice faded to a whimper. "Come back." Cuan turned around and stalked back. "What?" he snapped.
Sooo, if that was all in MY post, that is power playing.
Please no auto-hitting.Auto-hitting is a form of power playing, aptly named. Auto-hitting is when, in RP, a character lands a blow on the other without giving the opponent a chance to respond.
Auto-Hitting (DO NOT DO): Cuan smacked Tala with a hefty forepaw.
Not Auto-hitting (GOOD): Cuan raised a hefty forepaw and swiped at Tala.
A reply to that might be:
Tala was momentarily dazed by the force of the smack.
Or it could be:
Tala saw the move coming and ducked down.
No Godmodeling, please.Come on! A wolf can't dodge everything. No wolf leaves a battle without a scratch. Of course, there is an exception to that: If the other wolf gets away unscratched, you may get away unscratched. And an exception yet again: If the other wounds himself, not from a blow caused by your character, that is an exception.
Forcebreeding is allowed.Females have teeth, though. Don't expect them to not put up a fight.
Please have correct spelling and grammar.Do your best, OK? Google it or something, but do your best to have correct or understandable spelling. One exception is if your wolf can't talk right.
Grammar... You should know enough about this to have it be correct.
If you know that you're spelling it wrong/it's incorrect grammar but you don't know how to fix it, I think the best thing to do is this:
Explain to the people you're RPing with, and ask if they know how to. Post with it, modify it later.
No double posting. There is a button. Use it.
GOOD EXAMPLE:
Tala posts Cuan posts Tala posts Cuan posts Tala posts Cuan posts ect.
BAD EXAMPLE:
Tala Tala Cuan Tala Cuan Cuan
See how it works? Now what if someone joins you?
DO:
Tala Cuan Tala Cuan Sonya <---- This is where someone joined. Now what? Tala Cuan Sonya Tala
Think of it as you are in line to go on a ride. There are two of you in the line, taking turns going on the ride. Then when you or someone else is on the ride, someone enters the line, and you continue like that. Please don't cut!
Does that help?
Thread key.[O] Open. Anyone can join.
Private. Only people who are invited can post.
[C] Closed. You don't want anyone to reply, but you want others to see this post, at least for a while.
[D] Dead. No one has replied for two weeks [14 days]. It may be moved to archives. If you wish to revive it, you may PM a staff member.
[F] Finished. No more posts will be posted in this thread, move it to archives.
Know any more useful ones to add? PM Tala.

The Roleplaying GuideHow to claim territory. You may claim a territory in Packlands by PMing me, and if I say yes, just make a post about putting new scent marks or something. I would prefer that a wolf has a mate before claiming territory, otherwise... It'd be lone wolf lands.
Any lone wolves that come into the territory may be chased away or accepted into the pack. The claimers of the territory have every right to chase someone out.
Fulfilling your quest. When you RP a post in the Cave, a spirit guide will whisper a few strange words in your ear. Your job is to do one of these things:
Unravel the riddle, Find out where something grows, Talk to a certain wolf, Get something from another wolf, OR Achieve something, such as green fur (or maybe less strange)
You always can start on the mountainside, searching. There should be a few other wolves there later on, and perhaps they know where to find what you are looking for. Then, you may speed off and try to reach whatever it is as fast as possible, but not instantly—you don't have super-speed. After that, just start a thread where you need to be, saying you find the thing or the wolf ect. If you just need to find something—like a mushroom, you can post it as a closed thread to avoid getting tangled with others, and when staff sees that you have fulfilled your quest, the thread will be archived.
What to do on Freelands.Hunt, settle there, stay there for a night, meet other wolves ect. These lands cannot be claimed, so it is open to every wolf.
How to settle. It's easy: if your wolf wishes to settle down in any spot (under the Questing Grounds, Packlands, or Freelands category), simply write a post about it, and if anyone has objections, oppose. If there it good reason, you will most likely be driven out to settle somewhere else.
What your quest does.As soon as you drink from the cave, you can see color. Once you complete your quest, you gain a power and may give yourself ONE unnatural physical attribute, such as red eyes, a mane of stone spikes, a stone tail-tip, saber fangs... Yeah. But it has to be somewhat related to your power. If it had something to do with earth/minerals, you could do a range of things with stones or gems.
